About Us
Our Mission
We prevent non-communicable diseases by providing pathways for education and action on nutritional health among low-income adolescents, women, and children in the critical 1,000 days of life.
Our Vision
To reach 1 million adolescents, pregnant women, mothers and caregivers of children under two in underserved communities through comprehensive and integrated nutrition and health interventions by the year 2030.
What We Believe
We believe in preventing maternal, newborn and child deaths and stillbirths by scaling up quality essential maternal and newborn nutrition education and information for sustainable behavioral change outcomes.
Promoting adolescents' health through good nutrition and health behaviors can provide a solid foundation for adulthood.
Nutrition in Zambia
1.2 million Zambians suffer from chronic malnutrition, while 40% under 5 children are stunted. Although these numbers may sound like mere statistics, there are humans behind the numbers. Zambia’s malnutrition rates remain among the highest in the world. The country ranked 143 of 189 in the 2019 Human Development Index , with 48 percent of the population unable to meet their minimum calories requirements, more than one-third of children under five years stunted and more than half suffering from iron deficiency. Limited knowledge of nutrition, poor feeding practices and limited and unhealthy diets are the key root causes of malnutrition and related non-communicable diseases(NCDs).
