Our Programs
Adolescent Nutrition Initiative
After reaching 5,000 children in 10 schools in Lusaka with healthy nutritious food relief during the COVID-19 pandemic, we currently train high school children as nutrition ambassadors. We provide training and seeds to support schools to increase year-round production through backyard and vertical gardening within the school premises. The programs empowers high school adolescent with life-skills and training in good nutrition and non-communicable diseases prevention.
Nutrition Cooking Demonstrations
We partner with local clinics to offer nutritionally vulnerable lactating and pregnant women and mothers with children under 2 years skills in scientifically proven meal preparations. Participating women are empowered with skills and knowledge in childcare, growth monitoring, immunization, nutrition and meal preparation, breastfeeding, oral rehydration therapy, and hygiene as means of mitigating stunting and infant mortality, and halting the risk of low-birthweight neonates. We provide locally sourced food inputs, food relief, and referrals for mothers in need of Severe Acute Malnutrition(SAM) treatment.
National Nutrition Forum
A stunted budget toward nutrition results in student nutrition health outcomes. We host an annual Nutrition Forum where we host over 200 key iNGOs, government agencies, women, and key CSOs working on scaling up nutrition. The forum serves as a platform to network, collaborate, and promote sustained commitment by government and partners for accountable nutrition governance.
The 2023 Nutrition Forum will be held in Lusaka, Zambia during the Fall.
